In August we published a preliminary analysis of the Jupiter–Ketu conjunction, closing with the promise that a detailed analysis would follow. This is that analysis.
The headline has not changed. Jupiter and Ketu come exactly together at 1°16′ Leo in Magha Nakshatra on 12 November 2026 at approximately 1:59 AM IST, cast for Bangalore on the Lahiri sidereal zodiac, with Leo rising and Rahu directly opposite. Four planets are debilitated, three are retrograde, and the yoga is Atiganda.
What has changed is a detail the first pass treated as background, and which on closer inspection is not background at all.

The Detail the First Pass Understated: Mars
The preliminary analysis listed Mars among the debilitated planets and moved on. Counted by sign that is reasonable — Mars is in Cancer and the conjunction is in Leo, a sign apart. Counted by degree it is not reasonable at all.
At the moment of exact conjunction, Mars stands at 29°39′ Cancer — one degree and thirty-seven minutes from Jupiter and Ketu. A planet in the next sign is conventionally read as elsewhere. A planet ninety-seven arcminutes away is not elsewhere. It is in the room.
And the three of them are standing in the same doorway. The junction between Cancer and Leo is a gandanta — the knot where a water sign ends and a fire sign begins, spanning the last 3°20′ of Cancer and the first 3°20′ of Leo. Mars at 29°39′ Cancer is in the final pada of Ashlesha. Jupiter and Ketu at 1°16′ Leo are in the first pada of Magha. Those two padas are the gandanta.
Mars does not stay one degree away. It is moving forward, it enters Leo the same evening at about 8:18 PM IST, and it closes the gap over the following days. Mars reaches Ketu exactly on 15 November at approximately 6:00 AM IST at 1°06′ Leo, and Jupiter on 16 November at approximately 11:53 AM IST at 1°39′ Leo.
That makes this a genuine Mars–Jupiter–Ketu triple conjunction, and it reframes the event. The 12th of November is not a single night to be marked and passed. It opens a window that closes around the 16th, and the sharpest degrees fall in the second half of it, when the hot, fast planet arrives on top of the slow pair.
The order matters. Mars meets Ketu first, on the 15th, and Mars with Ketu is the classical pair for fire, explosion, short circuit and sudden destructive accident. Jupiter follows on the 16th. So the window runs from obstruction into combustion and only then into the slower Jupiterian consequences.
The Houses, Counted Correctly
Whole-sign houses from the Leo ascendant place the chart as follows.
| Body | Sign | Degree | Nakshatra | House |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lagna | Leo | 21°57′ | Purva Phalguni P3 | 1 |
| Jupiter | Leo | 1°16′ | Magha P1 | 1 |
| Ketu | Leo | 1°16′ | Magha P1 | 1 |
| Venus ℞ | Virgo | 28°43′ | Chitra P2 | 2 |
| Sun | Libra | 25°14′ | Vishakha P2 | 3 |
| Mercury ℞ | Libra | 11°07′ | Swati P2 | 3 |
| Moon | Scorpio | 23°52′ | Jyeshtha P3 | 4 |
| Rahu | Aquarius | 1°16′ | Dhanishta P3 | 7 |
| Saturn ℞ | Pisces | 14°26′ | Uttara Bhadrapada P4 | 8 |
| Mars | Cancer | 29°39′ | Ashlesha P4 | 12 |
These houses matter, because several of them say something the sign placements alone do not.
How Deep the Debilitations Run
Four planets are debilitated, but they are not equally debilitated. Each planet has a single degree of deepest fall, and distance from it is the measure of how hard the condition bites.
- Mars is 1°39′ from its deepest debilitation at 28° Cancer.
- Venus is 1°43′ from its deepest debilitation at 27° Virgo.
- The Sun is just over 15° past its deepest point at 10° Libra.
- The Moon is nearly 21° past its deepest point at 3° Scorpio.
So the two planets in near-total debilitation are Mars and Venus — and Mars is the one arriving on the conjunction. The Sun and Moon are debilitated in the ordinary sense: weakened, but not at the bottom of the well. This is a useful correction, because it tells us where the pressure actually concentrates.
Women, and the Venus–Moon Condition
Venus is retrograde, within two degrees of total debilitation, and placed in the second house — family, household, speech, accumulated wealth, food. The Moon is debilitated in the fourth — home, mother, land, housing, the settled comfort of the public. The Rahu–Ketu midpoint falls in Scorpio, the Moon's own sign, which the chart marks as a same-sign contact rather than a close one: the midpoint sits at 1°16′ Scorpio and the Moon at 23°52′, so they share a sign without standing together.
Taken together, the significations classical mundane astrology assigns to women are under sustained stress, and they are stressed in the two houses that concern domestic and family life rather than public life.
There may be a rise in difficult news concerning women, including reports touching on their safety. Scorpio's involvement makes the indication a sensitive one, and it is better not to speculate about the particular form such events might take. The honest statement is that the chart marks the area, not the incident.
Cinema and the Performing Arts
Women are the signification most often read from an afflicted Venus, but they are not the only one. Venus is also the significator of beauty, glamour, performance and the arts — and in mundane terms that means cinema, the film industry, and the people who make their living from being looked at. Actors, performers, musicians and the studios behind them all sit under the same planet.
So the condition described above applies to them with equal force. Venus is retrograde, within two degrees of its lowest possible point, and in Virgo — a sign of scrutiny, criticism and fault-finding, which is an uncomfortable place for a planet whose business is appearance and charm. Placed in the second house of face, speech and accumulated wealth, the affliction touches reputation and earnings rather than private life.
The indications are therefore difficult news from the film world: a prominent name in trouble or in poor health, a production or studio in financial difficulty, a release that fails or is pulled, or a reputation damaged by something said. Actresses are doubly indicated, standing as they do at the meeting point of both significations.
The retrograde motion is worth its own note here. A retrograde Venus tends to bring the past back rather than open anything new — old films, old controversies, old partnerships, matters thought settled returning for a second hearing.
Health Significations
The same combination carries a health reading. Venus and the Moon together govern the reproductive and urinary systems, hormonal balance and the body's fluids; Scorpio governs the eliminative and reproductive organs specifically; and Mars debilitated in the twelfth house is the classical placement for hospitalisation and for conditions that are not visible until they are acute.
The indications therefore fall on urinary tract infections, reproductive and uterine complaints, hormonal disturbance and sudden illness, with women more prominently indicated than men.
Markets
Both luminaries are weak. The Sun, which signifies confidence, direction and the authority that steadies a system, is debilitated. The Moon, which signifies sentiment and the collective mood, is debilitated too. Mercury — commerce, contracts, accounts — is retrograde and sits with the debilitated Sun in the third. Venus, the natural significator of wealth and luxury, is retrograde and nearly at its lowest point, in the second house of accumulated money.
The reading this supports is volatility rather than direction. A chart this unsettled argues for sharp reversals, unreliable sentiment and ranges wider than the preceding weeks, not for a clean fall or a clean rally. Markets under weak luminaries tend to overreact in both directions and to reverse before the reaction has finished.
The Constructive Signature
Not all of this is difficult. Jupiter conjunct Ketu in the first house, in Magha, is among the most genuinely spiritual combinations in the tradition.
Jupiter is doctrine, teaching, philosophy and institutional religion. Ketu is detachment, renunciation and the dissolving of what has outlived its function. Where they meet, belief is not strengthened so much as stripped — the inessential falls away and what remains is held more quietly and more seriously.
In the first house, this touches identity and visible leadership. We may therefore see significant spiritual or religious developments: a new movement, teacher or institution coming into view, or a substantial change inside an established one. The gandanta sharpens this rather than softening it. Untying is precisely what gandanta degrees do, and Jupiter with Ketu is already a combination about letting go.
Governance and Institutions
The preliminary analysis argued for a meaningful leadership change, and the detailed chart strengthens the case rather than weakening it. Leo and Magha are the signs of thrones, sovereignty, inherited authority and established lineage. Jupiter signifies ministers, advisers, law, finance and education. Ketu separates. Rahu, opposite in the seventh, supplies the disruption and the incomplete information.
This need not be a central government. Jupiter's institutions include universities, educational bodies, religious establishments and financial administration, and a change in the leadership of any of these would answer the configuration. Financial governance is worth particular attention, Jupiter being the natural significator of treasuries.
Fire, Wiring and Records
There is a second, more physical reading of the same degrees, and it is worth stating separately because it concerns premises rather than people.
Mars conjoining Ketu — exact on 15 November — is the classical combination for fire, short circuit, explosion and sudden destructive accident. It happens in Leo, the sign of the state, its offices and its seats of authority, and on the 12th Leo is additionally a Dagdha Rashi, a sign marked as burnt for that day. Meanwhile Mercury, which signifies files, records, registers and paperwork, is retrograde in the third house of documents and correspondence, and the Sun, which signifies government itself, is debilitated beside it.
Taken together, this indicates the possibility of electrical faults, wiring failures or fire at government premises, and of official records or documents being damaged, lost or rendered unreadable. The combination does not distinguish between an accident and the convenient disappearance of a file; it only says that papers which ought to exist may not survive the period intact. Server rooms, archives, registries and older office wiring are the places it points to.
Mars is debilitated and in the twelfth house at the conjunction, which is the house of loss and of what is destroyed or removed from view. That strengthens the reading rather than softening it: a weak Mars does not mean a small fire, it means fire that is handled badly.
Rumour, Fear and the Shape of the Narrative
Here the house positions add something the sign-level reading misses. The debilitated Sun and retrograde Mercury are together in the third house — the house of communication, messages, media, journalism and the short-range circulation of news. A weakened Sun there means authoritative, verified information lacks force. A retrograde Mercury there means messages travel wrongly, get revised, or arrive reversed.
Saturn, retrograde in Uttara Bhadrapada, sits in the eighth — the house of hidden things, crises, and what surfaces unexpectedly. Saturn is the significator of the masses, and retrograde Saturn in the eighth describes anxiety that circulates underground before it is visible.
Together these argue strongly that a major rumour, misleading narrative or unverified story spreads widely during this window and gains considerable traction before the facts catch up with it. Of all the readings in this chart, this one has the clearest structural support.
The Supporting Details
Two further points deserve recording.
The day's Dagdha Rashi are Leo and Capricorn. Dagdha, the "burnt" signs, are a daily calculation marking signs considered unfit for auspicious beginnings. On 12 November Leo is burnt — and Leo holds the ascendant, Jupiter and Ketu. The chart's most important sign is, on its own day, a sign to avoid for new undertakings.
The yoga is Atiganda, traditionally associated with severe obstruction and with situations that tangle before they resolve. The tithi is Tritiya of the bright fortnight, the karana Taitila, the weekday Wednesday, and the Moon runs in Jyeshtha Pada 3.
What to Watch, and When
- 12 November, 01:59 IST — the exact Jupiter–Ketu conjunction. The window opens.
- 12 November, approximately 20:18 IST — Mars leaves Cancer and enters Leo, carrying the fire significations into the sign of the state.
- 15 November, approximately 06:00 IST — Mars exactly conjunct Ketu at 1°06′ Leo. The sharpest date in the window, and the one the fire, electrical and accident readings hang on.
- 16 November, approximately 11:53 IST — Mars exactly conjunct Jupiter at 1°39′ Leo. The triple conjunction completes.
- The following weeks — Jupiter and Ketu separate slowly, so the institutional and spiritual significations unwind over a longer period than the martial ones.
A Note on Method
Every figure in this article is computed, not estimated. The moment of exact conjunction was found by solving for the instant at which the two longitudes coincide; Jupiter and Ketu meet at 121.264°, the same value to three decimal places for both. The Mars–Jupiter meeting on 16 November was found the same way. Debilitation depths are measured against the classical deep-debilitation longitudes, the same table this site's strength engine uses throughout. Houses are whole-sign from the Leo ascendant.
Readers who followed the August post will notice that the Mars reading is new. It did not come from a change in the ephemeris but from looking at degrees where the first pass had looked at signs — which is worth saying plainly, because it is the kind of thing a preliminary analysis is for.
Conclusion
This is a volatile chart rather than a uniformly dark one. Its difficult indications are real and they cluster in recognisable places: the domestic and family houses for the Venus–Moon stress, which reaches the film world as surely as it reaches women, the third house for the circulation of unreliable news, the eighth for what surfaces without warning, the twelfth for the martial and medical significations, and Leo itself — burnt on the day — for the state's own premises and papers. Against them sits a genuinely elevating Jupiter–Ketu in the first, and the possibility of leadership change that clears something which had stopped working.
The gandanta is the key to reading the whole of it. These are degrees of untying, and three bodies stand in them. What this period dissolves may matter more than what it brings, and the five days from the 12th to the 16th are where the knot is tightest — with the 15th, when Mars and Ketu meet, the tightest point of all.
As always, these signs are offered for awareness rather than for alarm. A chart marks the weather; it does not oblige anyone to be caught in it.
